I was an LPN for 26 years, and used to work here. So I've been on both sides of the fence. I wanted Willy here because the staff here really cares about the residents and it shows. He’s treated with courtesy and respect.

After I broke my leg, I couldn’t return to my apartment because there were four flights of stairs and no elevator. I needed therapy and a place to live, so I came to St. Lucas. The therapy staff work you hard, but makes it fun, and provides plenty of encouragement. I've learned some good tips and appreciate each therapist’s unique perspective. This is a good place for healing. They’ve helped me regain my independence.

Two fused vertebrae landed me in the hospital. After that, I needed rehab. They took good care of me at St. Lucas. The therapists were very motivating and encouraging. They gave me therapy twice a day for over 30 minutes each time. The exercises were interesting, and I can do them on my own now to stay strong. I never would have gotten this level of care on an outpatient basis. It was a good experience.

“Chris is my therapist. Oh, he is a jolly fella! He's a knowledgeable physical therapist, but he goes above and beyond to make my therapy sessions playful, and if he’s not available for some reason, all the therapists are fantastic. Same for the nurses; they’re all very kind. I feel so well cared for. There isn’t a bad nurse here."
