Inpatient & Outpatient Therapy
Welcov Healthcare provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services. While other nursing facilities are required to provide these services, Welcov Healthcare stands out.
We’re different because our therapy includes state-of-the-art equipment and therapy programs that aren’t typically offered by other providers. Our philosophy is to provide comprehensive treatments to help each patient recover quickly and function at their highest possible level.
Our therapists utilize advanced treatment devices to reduce pain and swelling and to help damaged and injured body parts heal more quickly. Frequently therapy patients are treated with a patented form of electrical stimulation, also used by many professional sports teams, to help increase muscle strength.
We have specialized therapy programs to treat conditions common to aging adults. These specialized programs, which work in conjunction with nursing, may include:
- Wound Healing
- Continence Improvement
- Fall Prevention
- Pain Management
- Stroke Recovery
- Post Hip and Knee Surgery
- Osteoarthritis of the Knee
- Post Amputation
- Chronic Heart Failure
- Range of Motion Programming
We have a special exercycle available to our therapy patients. The Omnicycle contains orthopedic, neurological, and cardiac settings, which we customize to the unique capability of each patient. The goal of the exercise is to increase aerobic ability and strength to help patients recover more quickly and gain independence.
Freedom Through Functionality
Some of our facilities use specially designed Nautilus exercise machines to help our therapy patients gain substantial strength more quickly. These machines are safer and more effective than traditional strength exercise because they guide motion, are positioned to fit each patient, and have resistance levels as small as one pound. Stronger muscles lead to increased functionality.
“The therapy department is wonderful. They absolutely do miracles in there. I can breathe better and I am stronger now. I get to go home in a few days!”
